Ra Ra Fashion Baby

Don't be alarmed. I know it's a lot of pictures, but trust me, this isn't even the half of it. I took 699 pictures last night. It was challenging, with all the models strutting so fast, but here they are! I'm not super proud of the image quality, but they give you an idea of the show. Perhaps they may even inspire you! Annnddd.... here is Palmer! These pictures have been lingering on my desktop begging to be seen:

Our dress was music themed, with sheet music on top from the recycling at the music building and cassette tape on the bottom from the OSU recycling center. The clutch took four hours of melting over a light bulb, and watching a whole lot of House. You should be seeing more of it because I got to keep it! But guess what?! It gets better. 


We won an award! 

We were the only freshmen to win an award! We won the Design & Human Environment Chair's Award, authorized by Dr. Leslie Burns. Originally, I was a little upset because they forgot to put my name up on the slide when the dress came out! I was really let down. Yet, everything worked out in the end, and the award totally made up for the faux pas.

I have a busy finals schedule, and I've been a bit under the weather, so I may be sparse this week, but I'll have some great things to show you during spring break. So it'll all be worth it. Have a great weekend!

Dumpsters to Diamonds

So you've heard my continual ranting and raving about the 21st Annual OSU Recycled Fashion Show. It is tomorrow night in the Memorial Union Ballroom at 7pm. If you can't make the show, or you don't even attend OSU, I've heard from Cut and Sew (a fellow student) that you can watch the show live on the facebook page at 7pm PST (here).

I'm so excited to finally show you what Flynn, Palmer and I have been working on! And to show you what I'll be wearing to the show. I'm going for something casual yet sassy. If you can't watch the show, I'm going to try and take some video and photos. Look for a post here either Thursday night or Friday morning!

Why: Readers, I'd like to introduce you to my new nude pumps. They are my new crush (sorry, Paul). I threw this outfit together before my interview. According to the weather, I should totally be wearing tights, but I feel like it's wrong to wear tights with nude pumps. They are nude. They should match my skin, which looks pink, but that's beside the point. Because I am lacking in the "business casual" department, I paired a flowy summer top and covered with a blazer. 

The interview went well! I have no idea where I stand, because there were so many qualified and well spoken candidates. Worst case scenario, I met some really cool adults that run campus recruitment. They all had senses of humor, which I totally dug. 

I got a laugh from one of the interviewers when I switched from my heels to topsiders after the interview. I was working business up top, party on the bottom. That's how I do.

Where: Monday night dinner and Chapter

Why: I wanted to test out a more "business casual look." This is what I ended up with: flight attendant Barbie. I look like a flight attendant, do I not? All I need in the wings pin and a pillbox cap. I've been wanting to try the scarf-in-a-belt look, and that's what I did here, but it's sort of hard to notice. If I were to redo this outfit, I think I would wear higher heels. The amount of coverage and the heel height makes this outfit a bit matronly (that's a shout out to you, Tim Gunn). I think it would be fun to remix this with a bit more color. This is pretty much all the black I own in one place. Do you have any ideas to spice up this ensemble? Leave a comment!
