My Ice Cream is Bigger Than Your Ice Cream

When: April 4, 2011

What:
Cardigan: Nordstrom B.P.
Blouse: Oldnavy via Goodwill
Skirt: J. Crew
Wedges: Nine West via Piperlime

Where: Monday night dinner at the lovely Chi-O house

Today I had a "Magnum" ice cream bar. Although, I decided that the more appropriate name would be "The Vinny (from Jersey Shore)." Seriously, who names ice cream "Magnum?" That's both pornographic and intimidating, neither of which I want my ice cream to be. They could've at least gone with something like "Ecstasy" or "Fire & Ice cream."

Mirror in the Sky

When: March 19, 2011

What:
Dress: Target
Jacket: Gap (similar jacket)
Boots: Mossimo Target via Goodwill
Scarf: Old Navy
Tights: Forever 21
Necklaces: gifts

Where: Shooting photos with my dad at the Rose Garden in Washington Park

Why: Can it please be spring now? Tomorrow is the first official day of spring and I decided to jump the gun by wearing some floral and pastel colors. Although the roses aren't in bloom, there were some other beautiful flowers to at least make it look like spring even though the weather disagrees. I was tired of wearing jeans so I grabbed this dress, with tights, it feels like I'm in pajamas. Perfect. I love the denim jacket! It's the first one I've ever owned and this is the first time I've worn it even though I've had it since August. I just needed a little inspiration. I like the boots with this outfit, but I'm not sure if I love them. They were great considering that the area was muddy and they aren't super nice, but perhaps next time I would try a springier shoe.

Tomorrow I am shopping with my mom! I went to the mall yesterday with Paul to shop for him and do my first research run. Ha ha, I needed to scope around what I like so I don't go too insane with lust. I found a bunch of things I love at J. Crew. Hopefully I'll be bringing back some new things to show you! I think I deserve it, since all the shopping I have in Corvallis is Goodwill and TJ Maxx. That's also why I can't give you many links to the items I wear, because they're all remixed from past seasons. And we all know how quickly the fashion industry moves.

Hope you're all having a great spring break! I'm crossing my fingers for some sun.

Oh, and Beau says, "herro."

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

When: March 3, 2011

What:
Blazer: Mossimo Target via Goodwill
Jeans: Levi's
Necklace: Anthropoligie
Tank top: Forever21
Heels: madden girl via TJ Maxx
Belt: American Eagle

Where: Dumpsters to Diamonds: 21st Annual OSU Recycled Fashion Show

Why: This is my take on the Lauren Conrad look. Amber and I were talking about cute ways to wear those nude pumps, and this is what we discussed. The flash kind of washed this picture out, but those jeans definitely have more of a navy hue to them, then pictures. I got a lot of compliments and I felt positively sassy. Although, I feel like I need to invest in another tank top because this one becomes sheer when stretched, and when a camera flashes, my bra flashes back. It's like morse code. And yes, they did use mirrors to do morse code, I googled it.

For the past week I've been feeling kind of sick. I have a weird bubbling stomach. I'm going to get tested for celiac disease over spring break. If I am gluten intolerant, I will go bezerk. Bread is my favorite thing in the world. I thrive off of bread, noodles, cookies, and oatmeal. My life will have peaked at age 19.

This week is dead week. I have to start getting ready for finals, so this week may be on the low end for cute outfits. Except, on Tuesday I am going to a tennis match in Eugene that is going to have some of the big names like Sharipova, Federer, and my man, Nadal (*drool*). I'm thinking preppy, country club, comfy cute so I can catch his eye. ;)

Also! Here is a video I took of the final walk of the recycled fashion show! It's really fun to watch.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! And please don't die during dead week. That would be bad.

Power Animal

When: March 1, 2011

What:
Blazer: Mossimo Target via Goodwill
Top: Nordstrom B.P.
Skirt: H&M
Heels: madden girl via TJ Maxx

Where: To an interview for OSU Office of Admissions TOUR Ambassadors

Why: Readers, I'd like to introduce you to my new nude pumps. They are my new crush (sorry, Paul). I threw this outfit together before my interview. According to the weather, I should totally be wearing tights, but I feel like it's wrong to wear tights with nude pumps. They are nude. They should match my skin, which looks pink, but that's beside the point. Because I am lacking in the "business casual" department, I paired a flowy summer top and covered with a blazer.

The interview went well! I have no idea where I stand, because there were so many qualified and well spoken candidates. Worst case scenario, I met some really cool adults that run campus recruitment. They all had senses of humor, which I totally dug.

I got a laugh from one of the interviewers when I switched from my heels to topsiders after the interview. I was working business up top, party on the bottom. That's how I do.

Recycled Fashion Show 2011
Thursday, March 3rd, 7pm
MU Ballroom

I saw this poster today in the library for the Dumpsters to Diamonds: Recycled Fashion show 2011. Are you excited?! I am.

Flight Attendant Barbie

When: February 28, 2011

What:
Blazer: Mossimo Target via Goodwill
Scarf: Headcovers (similar)
Skirt: H&M
Tank top: Nordstrom B.P.
Belt: Anne Klein via TJ Maxx
Tights: Betsey Johnson via TJ Maxx
Heels: Steve Madden via Nordstrom (similar)

Where: Monday night dinner and Chapter

Why: I wanted to test out a more "business casual look." This is what I ended up with: flight attendant Barbie. I look like a flight attendant, do I not? All I need in the wings pin and a pillbox cap. I've been wanting to try the scarf-in-a-belt look, and that's what I did here, but it's sort of hard to notice. If I were to redo this outfit, I think I would wear higher heels. The amount of coverage and the heel height makes this outfit a bit matronly (that's a shout out to you, Tim Gunn). I think it would be fun to remix this with a bit more color. This is pretty much all the black I own in one place. Do you have any ideas to spice up this ensemble? Leave a comment!
