Power Animal

When: March 1, 2011

What:
Blazer: Mossimo Target via Goodwill
Top: Nordstrom B.P.
Skirt: H&M
Heels: madden girl via TJ Maxx

Where: To an interview for OSU Office of Admissions TOUR Ambassadors

Why: Readers, I'd like to introduce you to my new nude pumps. They are my new crush (sorry, Paul). I threw this outfit together before my interview. According to the weather, I should totally be wearing tights, but I feel like it's wrong to wear tights with nude pumps. They are nude. They should match my skin, which looks pink, but that's beside the point. Because I am lacking in the "business casual" department, I paired a flowy summer top and covered with a blazer.

The interview went well! I have no idea where I stand, because there were so many qualified and well spoken candidates. Worst case scenario, I met some really cool adults that run campus recruitment. They all had senses of humor, which I totally dug.

I got a laugh from one of the interviewers when I switched from my heels to topsiders after the interview. I was working business up top, party on the bottom. That's how I do.

  2. Hi, I got to know aout your blog through a group on IFB. I'm totally glad I checked it out because your style is awesome! I am definately following.
About your comment on the nude pumps, I agree. Going monochromatic on the bottom half goes a long way in elongating your legs.
I hope you'll like my blog as much as I liked yours! You'll find it at http://throughtintedglass.wordpress.com

  6. Thank you, very much! I idolize Marilyn Monroe and Ingrid Bergman. The funny thing is, I don't try to emanate them, I just do.

That's the best compliment I've gotten all day. :D

  7. I think I would've liked if I had a higher waisted skirt. Any thoughts?

  8. I agree on the higher waisted skirt, but I'm gonna have to disagree with the no tights thing. I think that black sheer tights would look fab with this outfit, they'd make your heels really pop. But I understand what you meant about the nudeness (lol). I hope you get the job! They'd be stupid not to choose you. :P

  9. Wow!

I read a lot of blogs, but when I saw your photo pop up I stopped and said "Oh wow" out loud. You are really, really gorgeous. Well-dress, of course. But there is something about your face that is really unique and captivating. You look like a vintage femme fatale, my dear.
